Shred Station’s Commercial Director, Kristian Carter, appointed Chair of the BSIA’s Information Destruction section.

We have some very exciting news to share! Our Commercial Director, Kristian Carter, was appointed yesterday as Chair for the British Security Industry Association’s Information Destruction Section!

Why the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) is so vital for the data destruction industry

The BSIA is the UK’s trade association for the professional security industry. It has led and shaped the UK’s security industry for over 50 years. The association acts as the voice of professional security for all of the nation’s security sectors.

Amongst many other contributions to the UK’s security industry, the association was a driving force behind the introduction of EN 15713 shredding standards in the UK. These are the standards that all information destruction companies in the UK should adhere to when destroying confidential information on the behalf of others. At Shred Station, we perform all of our operations in line with EN 15713 standards. This is something we are audited on as a BSIA member.

Shred Station and the BSIA

Shred Station is a certified BSIA member and has been since 2014.

The founder of Shred Station, Simon Franklin, was previously the elected Vice-Chair of the Information Destruction section in 2015. Since then, Shred Station’s involvement with the BSIA has grown and developed, displaying our commitment to innovation and thought leadership in the UK’s data destruction industry.

Kristian, the vice-chair since 2020, now the elected Information Destruction chair, comments:

“I’m really pleased to take the role of Chair and am looking forward to helping drive the Information Destruction section forward.  It’s a great platform to raise the profile of our industry and the excellent work done in the sector by all of our members”.

A huge congratulations to Kristian from the whole Shred Station team.
