Chain of Custody

For every document that goes through your organisation, you must be able to provide evidence of that document’s chain of custody. The Information Commissioner’s Office can call upon businesses at any time to provide this evidence, and that includes proof of how documents are being disposed of.

After every collection, Shred Station will issue you with a certificate of destruction and waste transfer note. These documents confirm the safe destruction of your data in line with GDPR and EN15713, and provide proof for your organisation’s chain of custody records. Our mobile shredding service offers the shortest chain of custody, but whichever service you choose, your confidential information is in safe hands.

1. Collection

Lockable bins or bags are supplied for regular collections, or alternatively we offer a one-off collection of bagged, boxed or palletised material.

2. Security Vetted Staff

Our uniformed and security-vetted staff transfer all documents in sealed containers to our mobile shredding or off-site shredding vehicle.

3. Mobile Shredding

Once behind secure doors, our operatives place the data directly into the shredder located on board.

3. Off-Site Shredding

Confidential data is transported within the sealed body of the secure vehicle.

4. Certificate of Destruction

A Certificate of Destruction and Waste Transfer Note are issued, confirming the safe destruction of your data in compliance with European standards.

5. Recycling

Shredded paper is removed from site, baled at our depot and sent to a UK mill for recycling.
