Meet the Shred Station Team

The Shred Station family has grown massively since opening our doors in 2008, and we now have staff members across the entire United Kingdom in various offices and depots. For most of our customers, you may only ever meet our shredding operatives face-to-face. But there is a lot of work behind the scenes that has made our operations possible, and our office and field-based staff are always happy to help.

How long have you been at Shred Station? 2nd June 2020.

What does your average day at work look like? I’m now into my fourth month here and it’s already been quite a journey.  I don’t really have an average day – I could be out on the road meeting customers, suppliers and colleagues or in any of our offices working with the team on marketing, processes, bids and sales, to wandering around the warehouses catching up with the team.  I’ll be getting involved with anything and everything while also looking at strategy alongside Simon and delivering improvements and innovations to the business so we’re always one step ahead.

What do you enjoy most about your job? Winding up Oli. But also I like the variation and scope, it’s nice to be involved in all aspects of the business and be able to make positive changes that hopefully benefit our staff and our customers.

If our shredding machines worked like Room 101, what would you put in the shredder and why? Covid.

What are three things on your bucket list? I’d love to build a house one day, travel the world and see my son grow up happy.

What is it that you think makes Shred Station unique in this industry? I think this is easy – we’re unique because we truly do put the customer at the middle of our offering.  We have the infrastructure to provide whatever a customer requires while being agile enough and with a fast decision-making structure to turn anything around without delay.

Name something your colleagues do not know about you: I once had an audition for an ITV drama.  I didn’t get it.  Probably why I’m here writing this & not signing autographs in Hollywood.

Which three items would you take with you if you were to be trapped on a desert island? Is it too cheesy to say my wife and boys?  Outside of that a football, sun cream and plenty of beers.
