Our CarbonNeutral® Project for 2023.

This year, Shred Station celebrates its fifth year of being a CarbonNeutral® certified company with a CarbonNeutral® certified fleet.

To achieve CarbonNeutral status, a business must actively reduce emissions. For emissions that cannot be reduced, all required Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions must be offset to net zero in line with The Carbon Neutral Protocol. This offsetting is facilitated by Climate Impact Partners, our certification provider, using a range of verified offsetting projects across the globe.

Our 2023 project

The project we’ll be supporting for our 2023 certification is the Zhaoyuan Xinlong Shunde Wind Farm. The wind farm is located in China’s Heilongjiang province in the city of Daqing and is part of the Global Renewal Energy Portfolio.

The wind farm boasts 33 wind turbines, each with a 1,500 kW capacity. The total potential emission reduction of the entire project per year is around 108,000 tonnes of CO2e. It is great to be able to support a project with the potential to offer this level of reduction to China, the largest emitter of carbon dioxide gas in the world.

You can learn more about the Zhaoyuan Xinlong Shunde wind farm on the CDM website.

Our previous projects

This is the fourth year in a row we have chosen to support renewable energy projects. These projects have all been located in India and China, two of the world’s largest polluting countries. In our first year of certification, we also offset our emissions by supporting a community reforestation project in Uganda.
