At Shred Station, we believe it’s important to support our local communities, and one way we do this is through sports sponsorships. This year, we are pleased to be adding the Peterborough Phantoms to the list of sports teams we support.

The Peterborough Phantoms is a National Ice Hockey League (NIHL) team that has achieved many accolades in recent years. This includes winning the NIHL National Cup in 2023 and the NIHL Play-Off Championship trophy in 2024.

What is a Penalty Kill?

Shred Station is this season’s Penalty Kill sponsor for the Peterborough Phantoms. But what is a Penalty Kill?

A Penalty Kill occurs when a player is sent off from play into the penalty box. This situation (being a player down) puts their team at a disadvantage. During this penalty time, the team with a player down has to act defensively, essentially killing time until the penalty is over – hence the term Penalty Kill.

Penalty Kills are a very intense time in any ice hockey game, creating a unique sponsorship opportunity.

We are delighted to sponsor the Peterborough Phantoms, a team that shares our commitment to excellence and community.
