The advantages of bulk or purge services

When you choose us to handle your bulk destruction, you have our guarantee of a customer-focused, efficient, and fully compliant service.

Completely secure

EN 15713 is the European standard for secure shredding services. Each year, we're audited for EN 15713 compliance by the UKSSA. This includes a full review of our security processes. We also train all staff in GDPR. With us, you have the peace of mind that your documents are handled with care and confidentiality.

Flexible service options

Our services are extremely flexible. With purge shredding requirements, we can perform services on-site at your premises or off-site at our destruction facilities. To help keep your business on top of its confidential waste, we can also provide lockable bins for regular shredding collections.

Simple booking process

Let us know how much you have to destroy, and our sales team will respond the same working day with a price. For complex requirements, they may need you to answer a few questions before putting your quote together. If you're happy with the quote, we’ll arrange a suitable date to perform the service. Our typical turnaround time for bulk shredding is around a week, depending on logistics and availability.

Cost-effective, competitive pricing

Our services offer excellent value. As an independent business, we don't need to charge over-the-top prices to please external shareholders. We prefer to build trust-centred business relationships that last. Our flexible pricing model means that bulk shredding is particularly cost–effective. Typically, the more boxes or bags you have, the less we can charge per box.

Eco-friendly and carbon-neutral

We are a lifetime CarbonNeutral certified company. This means, whether you have a single box or a thousand, your service will be provided with neutralised emissions. With 100% of paper recycled at UK mills and a Zero to Landfill policy, our process can help your business achieve its ESG goals.

Ultra-precise shredding

Our industrial shredding equipment is state-of-the-art. As well as being highly efficient, our machines are reliable, don’t require cool-down periods, and can handle bulk shredding jobs of any size. Our shredders are sharpened constantly by our engineers, ensuring consistent performance and a small shred size every time.

"Jack was excellent in both offering a quote and arranging the appointment, with email confirmations. We wanted a lorry to carry out the shredding on-site, and the driver, Dave, was first class. He arrived on the day agreed and was there ahead of time. We had a lot to do, but it was all cleared, and I would highly recommend their services."

Stay compliant with GDPR document retention obligations

As per the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), your business should only keep sensitive or personal information for as long as necessary. Once any obligatory retention periods are over, documents must be destroyed securely and safely.

After every bulk paper shredding service, you’ll receive a Certificate of Destruction confirming your materials have been destroyed in compliance with GDPR and BS EN 15713 standards, as well as a Waste Transfer Note. These documents confirm your chain of custody.

If you find that your commercial documents are sitting in archives way longer than they reasonably should be, it could be time to consider a more regular document destruction process.

Archive shredding

Almost every business will have statutory requirements to retain certain documents for a set period of time, for example, accident report books. But, since workspace is usually limited and storage space is costly, few firms want to keep large volumes of documents on-site. Consequently, many turn to archive storage.

Sooner or later, your archives will no longer be needed. When this happens, your documents must be destroyed securely and safely. Shred Station provides large-scale archive shredding jobs both on-site and off-site.

With on-site services, we can destroy between 400 and 500 boxes (4/5 tonnes) per day at your premises for you to witness. With off-site services, we can collect up to 52 pallets per load for shredding at our secure facilities, depending on vehicle availability. Both of these options are available on a one-off, ad-hoc, or regular basis.

Frequently asked questions

See our customers’ frequently asked questions. If your query isn’t answered below, please feel free to head over to our FAQs page for more information.

We process around 65,000 tonnes of confidential paperwork each year. To us, a bulk shredding job could be anything from a skip full of archive boxes to an entire warehouse full. Bulk shredding, to you, may just be an amount that is too much to destroy with a small office shredder.

Whatever quantity of documents or other confidential materials you have, we can destroy them. There is no job too big or too small. We can assist with your bulk or archive shredding quickly, cost-effectively, and compliantly.

Shred Station’s pricing is often the most cost-effective option available to the UK market. Our coverage is UK-wide, and the placement of our destruction centres means our operating costs are much lower than other shredding companies. As a result, we can pass these savings on to you.

Shredding costs can depend on a variety of factors including the volume you have, whether you want it destroyed on-site or off-site, if it’s something you need done regularly or just as a one-off requirement, and if you have any other specific requirements such as destruction outside of office hours. Our sales team will be able to talk you through the best, most cost-effective option for you.

For a limited time, we are also offering free bulk shredding services for volumes over one tonne of white paper delivered to our destruction centres. This service must be pre-booked in advance through our sales team.

No. This is one of the key benefits of using a shredding service provider. Our industrial shredders can handle these items with ease, and they are easy to remove during the recycling process.

If you have a working lift, our operatives will collect bins, bags, and boxes from all floors. If you have boxes or bags stored above or below ground-level without lift access, we can arrange a collection. However, we would require prior notice and this would be priced separately.

Our customers with large or secure sites, such as hospitals or prisons, often prefer to have us collect from a central ground-level location. This causes minimal disturbance and is often the fastest solution.

Yes. You will receive a Certificate of Destruction via email. With on-site services, this is provided instantly. With off-site services, it may take a few days for us to process the certificate, but it will be sent within 72 hours guaranteed.
