Recycling and the environment
Shred Station believes that together we are greener; therefore we ensure our customers’ carbon footprint equals our own ISO14001 Environmental Certification. Applying an eco-friendly approach to confidential data destruction, we work with clients to save the environment, understanding the importance of creating knowledge about what happens to shredded material.
Upholding an efficient integrated recycling program, our zero tolerance approach to landfill, sees items such as shredded data tapes and clothing directed to an Energy from Waste Plant. Incinerated under strict controls, material is then used to produce electricity which is directed to the National Grid.
Additionally, Shred Station also directs 100% of its recycled paper to UK processing mills, significantly reducing the carbon used in the transportation of baled material and the recycling process.
If you would like learn more about our environmental policy, it is available on request.
Everyday actions such as driving a car produce carbon dioxide emissions, which contribute to climate change. Although unable to eliminate climate change, carbon offsets can be made to compensate for unavoidable emissions caused by our actions.
Shred Station’s bespoke service gives customers the opportunity to reduce the impact of their actions, by offering the opportunity for a tree to be planted, for every tonne of paper we shred for a customer. Each replanted tree helps offset the carbon that is used in the shredding process, supporting our mission to work with customers to create a greener planet.
